Join Shark Stewards in our annual Ocean Health Fair, Fun Run and walk and mix your tunes in support of sharks and ocean health. Situated in the beautiful Newport Back Bay, this ocean party celebrates ocean health and human health.

Help us raise funds for youth education and support sharks and ocean health by assisting on race day at the 4th annual 5K/ 1mile Run 4 Sharks in Newport Beach.

Event set up at 0800 Am, for a 9 Am start, event ends at noon.

The oceans are at risk. Sharks are overfished and plastics pollute, killing marine life and destroying reefs. We must learn to co-exist with marine life, especially sharks. One third of sharks are threatened with extinction. Sharks are critical for maintaining the health of ocean ecosystems

About Shark Stewards

Location:

2250 Allston Way Suite 460, Berkeley, CA 94704, US

Mission Statement

Restoring ocean health by saving sharks and protecting critical marine habitat.

Description

Shark Stewards employs education, science and media to gain public support and advocate policy for shark conservation and marine protected areas.

We are leading the effort to educate and establish marine protected areas and ban the shark fin trade in North America, and are expanding across the Pacific into Asia with our Pacific Shark Alliance.

At home we are helping rstore habitat in the San Francisco Bay, and keeping the Bay clean through our beach clean ups in the National Parks waterfront in San Francisco.

Based in San Francisco, Shark Stewards is a project of The Earth Island Institute, an environmentalist think tank founded by David Brower and a 501c3 non-profit.
