Seeking Russian and English speaker to assist Client communication!

ORGANIZATION: Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project

Esperanza seeks a volunteer fluent in both Russian and English to assist an attorney who has a client who is a Russian speaker and has a sensitive domestic violence claim. The attorney is looking to be paired with a woman Russian speaker who can help her communicate with the client on a consistent basis.

This interpreter should be available for a couple of hours a week during core business hours (M-F, 9am-5pm).All interpretation will be done telephonically and/or virtually. No certification or professional experience in interpretation is required. Please help our client and attorney communicate. You will be helping an indigent immigrant effectively fight their deportation.

Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc., serves espercially vulnerale immigrants fighting against removal from the United States. Esperanza mostly provides legal services to children who are fighting against removal, however Esperanza also has clients in federal immigration detention centers. Esperanza provides direct representation, pro bono placement and pro se legal education.
