Certified Massage Therapists have an incredible opportunity to serve hospice patients and/or those caring for hospice patients by volunteering their services with TRU Community Care. Massage has been proven to increase comfort by decreasing anxiety and stress and promoting relaxation which often causes better sleep. We desire to help patients have a comfortable and dignified end of life experience. Massage therapy would help immensely with this goal.
We frequently have patients ask for massage therapy, not just anyone is able to provide that, we need trained professionals. A volunteer masseuse with TRU knows they are making a real difference in the lives of our hospice patients.
As a volunteer you choose which patient assignments you accept. We see patients all over the Boulder and Denver Metro area. A massage therapist commits to seeing their hospice patients 4x and then re-evalutes. We always have a waiting list for patients waiting to benefit from massage.
TRU Community Care, formerly HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, has been serving our community since 1976. We are a nonprofit organizations which works to ensure that everyone in our community can live with advanced illness as comfortably, confidently, and fully as possible.

Mission Statement
TRU Community Care (TRU) affirms life at every step of your journey with illness and loss. Our vision is to lead a healthcare transformation by engaging with our communities and offering innovative, meaningful care for those living with illness and loss.
Description
We were founded as Boulder Hospice in 1976 to provide expert medical, emotional, and spiritual care to terminally ill people and their families.
As Colorado's first hospice, we have long set the standard for care of those with advanced illness in our region. And we continue to lead the way today, with innovative programs that honor the choices, preserve the dignity and address the individual needs of the patients and families we are privileged to serve.
As a nonprofit, community effort, we provide our hospice care for everyone who needs us, regardless of ability to pay. With a focus on providing a continuum of care for members of our community living with advanced illness and loss, TRU’s programs include TRU Hospice, TRU PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly), TRU Palliative Care, Landmark Memory Care, and TRU Grief Services.
