Join us as we find out the water quality of the Patapsco River within the Patapsco Heritage Area! We need volunteers to help take water samples at 4 locations 2 days a month (Monday and Tuesday) and help us take readings of various water quality standards. We need up to 5 volunteers each day, but would love to grow our volunteer crew!

  • 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM EST
    Driving between 4 water sites with PHG staff member

Patapsco Heritage Greenway is a small nonprofit based in Ellicott city, MD. We manage the Patapsco Valley Heritage Greenway, an area that encompasses both land in Patapsco Valley State Park as well as areas outside it. PHG is dedicated to providing both environmental and historical stewardship within the Patapsco Valley Heritage Area.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • 4 hours one day a month or 2 days a month. Dates occur on Monday and Tuesday of each month.
  • Need to be able to walk on outdoor trails to reach water sampling locations. Comfortable working outdoors as well as indoors to do scientific collection.
