Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8235 is active in the community and provides service in many areas such as: Five days a week participation in the Meals on Wheels program, in school programs such as the Voice of Democracy, Patriots Pen and Citizen Teacher of the Year, where we encourage young people to appreciate our country and the sacrifices the our veteran have made. We support veterans throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area with our website’s Veteran Resources and JobBulletin pages. We also provide clothing and other needed items to homeless veterans in the Fort Worth area. All these activities and many more or strictly accomplish through the effort of volunteers.
The neighborhoods surrounding our VFW Post have many veterans and their families most are lower middle class families, the working poor, and older veterans living on modest fixed incomes. We also have many of the younger active and reserve service men and women from NAS Fort Worth/JRB that come to our post. VFW Post 8235 offers a safe environment for the veterans young and old to come for companionship, recreation, good meals and to service the community. Therefore most of our funds go to support veterans and the surrounding community.
