Summary/Objective:
United Way's Free Tax Preparation program is designed to help low and moderate-income residents get their taxes done at no cost. The program also provides assistance and advice for taxpayers with disabilities, language barriers, or other hurdles who are preparing their own tax returns. As an IRS-certified volunteer, you will be thoroughly trained to assist families and individuals with tax-related needs, helping your neighbors not only save money on their taxes but ensuring they earn the maximum amount on their returns as well. It's one of the best ways to #LIVEUNITED.

After seeing the devastation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, both in the Central Valley and the rest of the country, as well as watching the push for social and economic justice rise to the forefront of the American consciousness in recent months, we are doubling down on our commitment to help improve the radical wealth, health, and educational disparities that have been negatively impacting our Communities of Color for far too long. One of the ways we’re doing this is through our new Prosperity Coaching model- an innovative, long-term approach designed to teach people how to grow and invest wealth from where, before, there was nothing.
Overall, our goal at United Way is to mobilize the caring power of community to advance the common good of our residents here in Fresno and Madera Counties. We know that together, we can make a lasting impact in our neighborhoods, as well as the world at large.
