WE ARE BACK & we need Special Event Volunteer Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History will host the 38th Annual African World Festival from August 20-22, 2021
Overview of Positions: Beverage Booth Sales: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED #2 Out-going volunteers who like to be busy are needed to pour and serve beverages and check IDs. Must be 18 years of age. The Booth Manager will train you on-site.
Festival Floater: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED #2 Must be generally willing to help out as needed. Floaters are especially needed when there are shortages in other areas.
Festival Merch & Info Booth: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED #8 Volunteers are needed to provide museum membership applications, parking, and event information for festival visitors. This position is best for friendly folks who enjoy talking with the public, answering questions, and generally being of assistance.
Site Office Assistant: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED #4 Volunteers are needed to assist with the production and operations of the Festival: running errands, answering phones, making copies. Persons with clerical experience and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment would be helpful in this position. (Limited number of volunteers needed.)
Ticket Booth Sales: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED #4 If you are good at handling money and are a responsible, detailed-oriented person who loves working with the public -- this is the position for you. We need many reliable individuals for this position.
Vendor Assistant: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED #2 Volunteers are needed to assist with checking in AWF. This position begins on Thursday, August 19th at the Wright Museum. You will assist with paperwork and lead exhibitors to their vending booth spaces are on the Festival grounds.
Volunteer Check-In: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED #2 Volunteers are needed to assist the volunteers! This position includes volunteer check-in, t-shirt distribution, running errands, and other fun duties. (Limited positions available.) Watoto Village "Watoto" = "Children" (KiSwahili): VOLUNTEERS NEEDED #4 Here’s your chance to have fun and provide supervision and security, too! Assist with a variety of cultural arts and craft activities. Be a play leader for various games and assist the Stage Manager. This area is always a Festival favorite for children and families.
Entertainment / Hospitality: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:4 To support the production manager by providing agreed hospitality and superior customer service to visiting artists/performers/clients and crews. Confidentiality is very important. Essential Functions: Anticipate and respond to guest needs. Respond to guest concerns/complaints regarding food or service and correct errors or resolve complaints with a friendly, positive attitude. Organize and prioritize service per appropriate service sequence. Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques.
