We are expanding our Board of Directors RRUFF Healing Heroes is a nonprofit (501(c)(3) organization located in Rocklin Ca.
As a board member, you would be tasked with helping make decisions regarding future operations, strategic planning and financial support we provide for our programs. We have two programs:
Healing Heroes, raises money to fund service dog training for disabled veterans with Post Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury, Military Sexual Trauma and other invisible disabilities.
RRUFF Dog Park is Rocklin's first and only off-leash dog park inside Johnson-Springview Park. We are responsible for weekend maintenance, amenities, repairs, events, and other dog-park related activities and expenses.
The ideal board member would be proficient in one or more of the following:

  • Fundraising
  • Event Planning
  • Volunteer Management
  • Strategic Planning/Succession Planning
  • Marketing, Social Media
  • Previous board of directors experience helpful, but not required
  • Legal
  • Administrative Skills
  • Veteran
If you are a veteran, we would be most interested in hearing from you.

Our board is a "working" board in addition to being a governing board. The organization is 100% volunteer run and has no paid staff. We are located in Rocklin Ca. Board members should live locally since it is a hands-om working board.

And, you "Must Love Dogs", because everything we do relates to working and helping our four-legged companions and their people

We meet monthly, the 3rd Wednesday of the month in Rocklin at the Growth Factory Conference Room from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. This meeting time can be adjusted to accommodate your schedule.

Description

RRUFF was originally formed to establish the first off-leash dog park in Rocklin, Ca. The dog park opened December 23, 2011. In 2014 our mission expanded and Healing Heroes became a program of RRUFF. This program is dedicated to providing funding for service dog training expenses to veterans and first responders with post traumatic stress disorder and other invisible disabilities. Classes are held throughout the greater Sacramento, Placer, Yuba, and El Dorado counties. We continue to manage the RRUFF Dog Park inside Johnson-Springview park. And we continue to fund veterinary care for service dogs in-training as well as assist in finding and adopting, rescuing or purchasing dogs to match with veterans in the program. We have grown substantially over the past four years and look forward to continued expansion and collaboration within the nonprofit community . Our focus will be on raising money for the needs of the dogs in the service dog training classes as well as maintaining the RRUFF Dog Park.
