Role Description:

Are you passionate about making a difference and love the digital world? As a Social Media Volunteer at Mary's Meals Canada, you'll step into an exhilarating role where you become a superhero of storytelling! Under the guidance of our Director of Marketing & Communications, you'll wield the power of social media to amplify the impact of Mary's Meals across digital realms. Your mission? To engage, inspire, and unite our supporter base, sharing heartwarming stories, boosting fundraising efforts, and creating connections that span the nation. Join us in spreading the word, igniting passions, and making a lasting impact on children's lives, one post at a time!

Qualifications:

• Social media savvy with experience in utilizing various platforms and engaging with a substantial following.
• Passionate about Mary’s Meals' mission and excited to share compelling stories with your audience.
• Familiarity with best practices in digital tools, content creation, and social media management.

Key Activities:

• Support day-to-day social media presence across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
• Engage with supporters, respond to queries, and suggest new volunteer opportunities.
• Share the organization's content, attract new followers, and promote engagement.
• Create engaging digital content, including videos, blogs, and emails.
• Ensure digital communications align with Mary’s Meals Canada's values and guidelines.

Additional Details:

• Impact Emphasis: Your efforts directly contribute to raising awareness, engaging supporters, and ultimately feeding children through Mary's Meals.
• Training and Support: Access orientation sessions, resources, and ongoing guidance from the Director, Marketing & Communications.
• Collaboration Opportunities: Collaborate with other volunteers, departments, or teams on campaigns, events, and content creation projects.
• Recognition and Rewards: Opportunities for shoutouts, certificates of appreciation, and advancement within the volunteer program as well as gain volunteer hours for your contributions.
• Social Media Guidelines: Adhere to the organization's social media policies, including confidentiality, brand voice, and appropriate use of language and imagery.

Time Commitment:

Flexible hours with a minimum commitment of 1-2 hours per week, including occasional weekend activities based on campaigns and social media interactions.
