Mission Statement

When Turtle Mountain Animal Rescue Rescues an Animal, We Save Them All the Way. Rescue in-the-field, veterinary care, professional training, rehabilitation of animals, a safe place for mothers to raise their litters, fostering until animals are adopted, educating and providing services to the community, and fundraising to support continued operations and build a shelter where there previously was none are ways in which we serve animals’ greater good. Our efforts even extend south to hurricane-prone regions when disaster strikes. We are a boots on the ground and grass roots rescue, non profit 501(c)3, located in Rolla, ND. In 2015, founder Keith Benning saw a need and filled it - there were no animal rescues or shelters for 2000 miles; veterinary care and animal first aid were hours away before TMAR began operating out of the garage of the home in which Keith lived. TMAR operates with very few employees. Volunteers make saving animals possible.

Description

Since 2015, we are a primarily volunteer-based animal rescue in Rolla, ND, with puppy, kitten, dog and cat fosters throughout the greater Fargo, Grand Forks, and Jamestown
areas, and local to Rolla.

One of TMAR’s founders, Keith Benning serves as Rescue Manager. We service a 2000 square mile area and rescue more than 1000 dogs, puppies, cats and kittens per year. We are building a state-of-the-art animal shelter/sanctuary and attached youth center that will be the first of its kind in the Rolla area.

In addition to providing jobs within the shelter, our goal is to provide youth involvement programs, where kids can participate in the rescue and care of animals.

Volunteers make it possible.
