Evergreen Center is a culturally diverse community based facility offering a wide range of services and activities for the entire family. We are currently seeking volunteers who would be interested in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to our Asian American members.

The good candidate would be fluent in both Korean and English. An ideal candidate would be fluent in multiple languages.

The days and times for classes are flexible and can be adjusted based on instructor availability. Our center is open Monday-Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.

This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about working with individuals who want to become more fluent in the English language.

About Penn Asian Senior Services (PASSi)

Location:

6926 Old York Road, Philadelphia, PA 19126, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to promote the well being of Asian American seniors and other adults who are disadvantaged by their language and cultural barriers.

Description

PASSi currently provides community based culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate adult day care in our Penn Asian Jubilee Center as well as in-home health care services to low-income elderly and disabled adult Asian Americans who reside in the greater Philadelphia metro area. In each case, our clients are ailing, disabled and disadvantaged by cultural and language barriers. Through these services, vulnerable members of Asian American communities have the opportunity to maintain healthy, dignified, independent lives and prevent premature admissions to nursing home care. For their families, this service provides peace of mind and respite from the need to fulfill filial obligations to care for elderly parents and disabled adults at all costs.
