The Lovepost is currently seeking a part-time remote editorial assistant to provide valuable support to our editors and our team of content creators as we bring stories and projects to life. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are eager to gain valuable experience in the world of publishing and contribute to the power of storytelling for positive change. Upon completion of your tenure with The Lovepost, you will receive a recommendation letter. It's worth noting that several of our past volunteers have successfully transitioned into full-time paid positions within the field.
Responsibilities
- Uploading stories to the website and maintaining regular updates.
- Managing and responding to website contact forms.
- Facilitating interviews between subjects, experts, and writers.
- Compiling and disseminating meeting minutes.
- Coordinating stories and necessary materials.
- Managing staff itineraries and schedules when needed.
- Providing comprehensive support to editorial staff throughout the publication process.
- Conducting interviews as needed.
- Assisting with article proofreading when required.
- Offering day-to-day support to the editor as necessary.
- Contributing to grant writing and applications on occasion.
Requirements
- Demonstrated work experience or currently pursuing a degree in communications or related field.
- Proficient writing and proofreading abilities.
- Familiarity with SEO principles.
- Strong command of the English language.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Capacity to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

This volunteer position necessitates a minimum commitment of 4 months and an immediate start date.
The anticipated weekly commitment of approximately 15-20 hours on average is required. We are seeking individuals available to volunteer during the hours of 5 PM to 9 PM EST, with a requirement to select 3 hours each day within this time frame.
