Caring for cats in traps

Forgotten Cats is seeking a person who can commit to Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday evening from approximately 4:30 - 7:00 pm. to discharge pets and cats in carriers and humane traps from our spay/neuter clinic. This person sould be organized and have good skills in working with the public. It requires explaining discharge information to clients, retrieving cats from the surgical area, and answering follow-up questions. This is a rewarding position to provide low-cost services to pet owners and medical treatment to cats who might otherwise not receive it. We will train and you will work as part of a two-person team until you feel comfortable.

About Forgotten Cats

Location:

PMB 422, 4023 Kennett Pike, Greenville, DE 19807, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to humanely reduce the homeless and unwanted cat population through Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR). Forgotten Cats finds homes for socialized cats through two PetSmart Adoption Centers in Delaware and three in Pennsylvania. We sterilize an average of 1000 cats in our two medical clinics and adopt out 80-100 socialized cats each month.

Description

By working with colony caretakers throughout Pennsylania, Delaware, and New Jersey, Forgotten Cats will trap, neuter, and return an entire colony, sterilizing and vaccinating all cats and providing medical treatment when necessary. Tame cats and kittens are transferred into our foster care system until properly socialized and eventually adopted into loving homes.

Most rescue groups' efforts are limited to finding homes for homeless cats, but the number of homeless cats and kittens born each day far exceed the number of homes available. That's why Forgotten Cats works to solve the unwanted cat probelm permanently and humanely. We also offer low-cost spay/neuter services and vaccinations to the general public, and provide education about spaying and neutering and the pet overpopulation problem.
