Meals from the Heart Volunteer Cooks

The Meals from the Heart program offers individual and group volunteers (up to 10 people) a fun and rewarding way to support families staying at the House. Our guests return from a long day at the hosptial often tired and hungry. By providing a meal, volunteers will be providing guests staying at the House with a
1) A healthy, nurtritous meal that will assist them in recovery from their medical care
2) A smile that will brighten their day
3) A caring community of conversation
4) The gift of time to focus on healing and wellness.

Families consistently tell us that complimentary meals are the one thing they appreciate most about staying at the Hosptiality House.

Meals from the Heart Volunteers plan, purchase, prepare and serve a meal to families staying at the our "home away from home" that is located in Druid Hills, close to Emory University.

Meals are prepared and served every night of year.

Meals can be prepared onsite or in commercial kitchen from your church, business/school, or restaurant. Takeout and delivery meals from a restuarant is perfectly acceptable.

Volunteers can plan your own menu or our Guest Services staff can provide guidance on menu selection, including a shopping list.

Dinner is served at 6:00pm every night;
Volunteers typically arrive arouund 4:00pm to starting meal preparation.
