Want to start making a difference in someone else's life? Become a Patient Support Volunteer for the Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation. Our Volunteers brighten up a cancer patient’s day by providing non-medical support to them while they are undergoing treatment. In the infusion area, volunteers offer a snack or beverage to patients, hand out warm blankets, share reading material, talk and listen, wipe down the infusion chairs and help to keep the area tidy.
Ideal candidates may be a retiree, cancer survivor, or a caregiver of someone with cancer. Available shifts are weekdays between 9am - 3pm. There is a minimum time commitment of 3 hours per week for at least six months.
