When facing the end of life, maintaining one's dignity and sense of being oneself are imperative. Providing a haircut to a patient who cannot leave his or her home is a treasured gift to both the patient and their family.
We are seeking hairstylists and barbers with a current PA Cosmetology License. Haircuts would be provided in patient homes. Hospice volunteers make an AMAZING difference! And, serving with us provides volunteers with the self-satisfaction that they are part of a team who's goal is to provide patients, caregivers and families with the most comfortable and compassionate end-of-life experience possible.
Volunteers are required to complete an Orientation which can be done as a self-study in the comfort of you own home and at your own pace. Volunteers also have a background check completed and a 2-step PPD (TB) Test. Any costs are covered by Homeland Hospice.
Needs exist today - in your community - and we would welcome the opportunity to talk more with you about how to get connected!
*Must have a current PA Cosmetology License
* Homeland Hospice's office is located in Harrisburg, but serves 14 South Central PA counties, including - Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Northumberland, Perry, Schuylkill, and York. Volunteers are able to indicate where they are able to serve - IE: near home or work.
* All CDC guidelines are followed and education on safe visiting is provided.
