ABOUT OUR STEAM EXCHANGE PROGRAM:
Our STEAM Program is poised to form partnerships with rural, regional leaders and schools in Africa and the United States, to introduce STEAM fundamentals to students from elementary to college level. Our mission for our S.T.E.A.M. Exchange program is to empower the underserved, underprivileged, and technologically impoverished students in the United States and Africa through STEAM education with the hope of training them to fill the void of technology opportunities in their community.

OUR NEED:

We are looking for a talented and passionate individual with experience designing and implementing evidence-based programs in the non-profit sector. The Program Coordinator will join a diverse team of highly committed and driven volunteers. This position requires personal and professional maturity, creativity, attention to detail and a commitment to the vision and mission of Expanding Boundaries International.

Responsibilities:

The Program Coordinator will work closely with the founder and program design committee to create a well-structured and robust STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths) Exchange Program for students in Africa and the United States.

  • Research and compile database of organizations and institutions that provide STEAM/STEM training and wrap around services
  • Develop a well-rounded STEAM curriculum for our students' ages 12 - above
  • Work with the program manager to create program documents including recruitment plan, application form, orientation manual, acceptance letter etc.
  • Research STEAM education opportunities
  • Work with the program manager to research and document STEAM Education process
  • Qualifications/Competencies:
  • BA Degree in related field
  • Experience in organizational development
  • Experience in program development and implementation
  • Experience in STEAM/STEM curriculum development is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated research, group process, and collaboration skills
  • Desire to be part of a start-up organization
  • Knowledge of program evaluation and quality improvement practices
  • Cultural competency and a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
