Use networking, promotional, and designing skills to communicate information from Samaritan Resource Center (SRC) to the public. Prepare and edit publications to keep the internal and external audience aware of all the current events and news going on with SRC. Tasks may include managing social media sites, making graphics, sending out newsletters, writing blogs and more. Tell vivid stories to the public about the work we do and maintain positive and strong relationships with the local media. Maintain our brand and increase its awareness through lively and interactive media campaigns. Manage social media sites, including, but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

Required skills: Excellent writing skills, knowledge of social media, basic designing skills, time management, creative thinking, and self-motivated.


Average workload: Post on all social media platforms at least 3 times per week. Editing both short term and long term projects on a regular basis. Gathering materials for promotional media.

Mission Statement

The Samaritan Resource Center (SRC) along with its partner organizations including Orange County and several churches in East Orlando, work in conjunction with many social service agencies throughout Orange County to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, by meeting the physical and spiritual needs of those in East Orange County who are homeless or who are at risk of homelessness. We are striving to make homelessness in Central Florida rare, brief, and one-time.

Description

The Samaritan Resource Center was incorporated in 2013 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit and formed through a partnership with several churches in East Orlando. Participating churches, includes but not limited to, Grace Journey, Orlando Wesleyan, Spirit of Joy Lutheran, University Presbyterian, and Woodbury Presbyterian. We are always looking for more partnerships with churches who can align with our Christian Mission Statement.

Since we began operating at our Colonial Drive center in 2013 we have helped 2,000 homeless individuals by providing assistance through applying for food stamps, SSI/SSD, Assurance phones; through partnerships with Goodwill’s Job Connection Center, and with Lakeside Behavioral Center/Aspire; and through offering haircuts, clothing, prayer, and much more!
