At Believe In Me, we are applying our collective knowledge and creativity to reimagine the donor and sponsor journey. As we continue to build our content library, we’re looking for a scriptwriter to assist in developing and creating our promotional and event videos. The ideal candidate is essential to our video strategy because they're responsible for creating the dialogue, characters, and storyline that drive potential donors and sponsors to interact with our brand. This is a fantastic opportunity for a writer with studio show experience and/or a candidate with experience in the nonprofit industry.
Responsibilities
- Create fun and informative scripts using your creative writing skills while adhering to established guidelines
- Work closely with producers and existing guidelines to script content
- Adhere to production calendars and ensure deadlines are met
- Provide constructive feedback and copy proofing for scripts drafted by other writers
- Work with other departments to understand the goals and objectives of the Foundation
- Assist and contribute to the ideation and development of new forms of content
- Work with SMEs to translate their knowledge and expertise into compelling narratives
- Work with creative directors to ensure interactive narratives effectively position the Foundation as a thought leader
- Create personas and backstories for interactive characters
- Work collaboratively with a team of designers
- Revise writing work as a result of feedback from SMEs, team members, and stakeholders
- Research subject matter with guidance from SMEs
- Pitch ideas internally to team members and stakeholders
- Provide additional support to ongoing learning experience design projects as needed
Requirements
- 2-3 Years experience as a Content Scriptwriter
- Experience working on a daily/weekly show a huge plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and on multiple projects concurrently
- Any experience/background in the nonprofit industry a huge plus
- Self-starter, deadline-driven, collaborator, team player
- Strong research skills and the ability to translate gathered information into compelling, everyday language
- Knowledge of branding and ability to write in the Foundation’s voice while highlighting our fundraising initiatives
Qualifications
- Strong content writing skills
- Strong understanding of a narrative structure
- Ability to write interactive dialogue
- Solid ability to integrate learning goals into narrative structures
- Ability to write, iterate, and revise work under tight deadlines
- Ability to brainstorm, collaborate with a team, and generate constructive feedback on narrative content
- Ability to work and write collaboratively with a team
