Catholic Charities Senior Shopping Program is in need of volunteer food shoppers for homebound seniors in Union County, New Jersey. Once a week the volunteer receives a shopping list for the senior from the Program Manager. The volunteer shops at the ACME in Clark. A cashier at ACME rings up the grocery order. The volunteer delivers the groceries and the store receipt to the senior's home or apartment building. The senior writes a check out to ACME for the order. The volunteer brings the senior's check back to ACME and is finished with their assignment for the day.
This program has been a lifesaver for many frail elderly and for seniors who have health risks. The seniors are so grateful to the volunteers for providing this essential food service.
