AmeriCorps Seniors (RSVP) connects individuals aged 55 and older with meaningful volunteer opportunities at over 150 partner organizations across New York City. We offer a range of benefits to both new and existing volunteers, making it easier for seniors to engage in service. Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for you:
Are you interested in working one-on-one with low-income individuals and families to help them improve their money management skills and increase their financial stability? If you have strong communication, research, and computer skills, the Financial Coaching Corps (FCC) of NYC is looking for volunteers like you!
What You’ll Do:
**Apply by Replying to this Post and Get Trained: Applicants are interviewed by program staff, and if accepted, receive formal training covering banking, budgeting, credit basics, credit reports, debt collection, public benefits, and student loans. Training also includes best practices for working with clients. FCC's Spring Training will take place from March 4th to April 3rd, 2025, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. The training will be hybrid, with both in-person and virtual options available.
**Serve and Make an Impact: After successful completion of training, volunteers will commit to four to six hours of service per week for at least one year. Volunteers will be placed at partner agencies throughout New York City to provide financial coaching, with options to serve in-person and/or remotely.
If this sounds like a great fit for you, join AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP and get connected with the Financial Coaching Corps today!
