Food for the Cure grows organically on 2 plots located at the St. Peter and All Saints Episcopal organic community garden l00 E Red Bridge Rd. Kansas City, MO 64114 every year. One day we would love to move locations and purchase a full-size farm dedicated to Cancer Patients. We usually work in the garden on Wednesdays 5-7pm and Saturdays 8-10am (switch to evenings once it gets too hot outside) depending on the weather and what we have planned. You will be added to our volunteer email list to see what days we will be working in the garden. Please only signup if you can make these days and times as for the most part, that is when we work in the garden.
Our mission is to create programs that teach people how organic food may improve our health and to give free organic food to cancer patients in the Kansas City Metro Area.
For our needs, we need gardeners that can help setup, plant, harvest, and maintain the garden! Come join the Food for the Cure family and help cancer patients all while volunteering your time at our 48'x30' garden. We run on 100% volunteers and donations. So, every little bit of volunteering helps us greatly!

Description
Here at Food for the Cure we are a small non profit with a huge heart. We currently grow an organic style garden at the organic community garden located at the St. Peter and All Saint Episcopal Church (located in the Red Bridge Area) every year. We take all the organic produce that we grow and give it to Cancer Patients that would like to have it to help in their battle with cancer completely free of charge. In 2020 we were able to give 220 pounds of food to 7 Cancer Patients. In 2021 we were allowed to expand to 2 whole plots. That will measure a whopping 48'x30'. We run on 100 percent volunteers and now more than ever we need your help with the garden. So please signup and volunteer today! With the power of Community we can.

REQUIREMENTS
- We would like to have volunteers that can come on a regular basis throughout the growing season. We will email out the days we will meet weekly. Days may change due to weather. We usually do Wednesdays and Saturdays.
- All volunteers have to sign a waiver form. Please let us know if you are under 18 so we can get the paperwork emailed to your parent/guardian. Just let us know their name and email address so they can sign permission with ease.
