Join our volunteer Horse Squad! Goats of Anarchy is a farmed animal sanctuary dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of animals with disabilities. We are in need of volunteers to work specifically with our equine residents. In exchange for unlimited horse and donkey cuddles, all we ask is that you help us keep our stalls and paddocks clean!

We are seeking volunteers to work with our rescued horses, mini horses and donkeys one day per week, from 10:00am-12:00pm (time can be flexible).

Duties include:

  • Mucking stalls
  • Cleaning and refilling water buckets and troughs
  • Raking up fallen hay in paddocks
  • Grooming the horses and donkeys

As volunteers gain experience, there is room to take on more responsibility if desired. And YES, there is plenty of time to cuddle with the animals when the work is done :)

Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Please note that this is NOT a riding opportunity, and volunteers must be capable of lifting at least 40lbs. Horse experience is preferred, but not required.

Interested in volunteering?

Because our volunteers are such an essential part of our day-to-day operations, we require a weekly commitment on a recurring, ongoing basis. If you live within an hour of Hampton, NJ (08827) and can commit to a weekly shift for the foreseeable future, please visit our website to fill out an application: www.goatsofanarchy.org/volunteer

Mission Statement

Goats of Anarchy is a farmed animal sanctuary dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of goats with disabilities. We teach acceptance and inclusion, advocate for animal rights, and promote veganism.

Description

At Goats of Anarchy, our mission is three-fold.

Our first priority is providing a safe, loving forever home to farmed animals in need - especially those with disabilities. We take in animals with all types of disabilities, ranging from blindness to mobility impairment to neurological disorders. We work tirelessly to ensure that every animal under our care can thrive, even when the cards are stacked against them.

A large part of advocating for animals is working towards creating a world where animals don’t need to be rescued. As such, one of our objectives is to use our platforms to educate people about a vegan lifestyle. Simply put, veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude all forms of exploitation of and cruelty to animals. It’s a compassionate outlook that views animals as sentient, valuable beings, rather than commodities.

The animals have taught us so many lessons, and we strive to pass those lessons on to others by telling their stories. One of our greatest hopes is that our animals will help teach the world inclusion and acceptance of disabilities. It warms our hearts to see our animals treat each other as equals, despite all their differences, and we see them as great examples of how humans should walk through the world.

These goals drive everything we do, and we invite you to join us in our mission to "fight like a goat" for the animals who need us most!
