Volunteers sort through food donations, repack and relabel food, and help assemble boxes of food in the Volunteer Room. The food that is prepared in the Volunteer Room is distributed to partner agencies. Sign up for a shift: https://sharefoodbringhope.org/volunteer.

5 Shifts

  • 08:30 AM to 11:00 AM CST - Spots available: 10+
    Some morning shifts are specific for product box packing
  • 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM CST - FULL
  • 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM CST - Spots available: 10+
  • 03:00 PM to 05:00 PM CST - Spots available: 6
  • 05:30 PM to 07:30 PM CST - Spots available: 10+

Description

The Food Bank is a regional disaster and hunger relief network that acquires and distributes millions of pounds of donated food annually.

Our food bank is one of few food banks nationwide that does not charge for the food it provides. Our food goes to soup kitchens, emergency food pantries, shelters for the abused and homeless, programs for low income children and senior citizens, and rehabilitation centers.

  • This is a Done in a Day opportunity and there is no prior training or ongoing commitment needed.
  • Must be at least 12
  • 2-3 hour shifts
  • -able to follow food safety requirements, including wearing hairnet/gloves/beard nets/aprons as needed -able to work independently -able to follow directions of staff
