Caris Healthcare is seeking passionate people to support hospice patients in Bristol, TN area. We have needs in all areas for compassionate, reliable volunteers and would love to sit down to discuss how hospice volunteering fits with your passion and desire to help others.
Patient Care Volunteers are needed in all areas throughout upper northeast Tennessee in Washington, Sullivan, Carter and Johnson counties. Patients live in private homes and nursing facilities. Activities include visiting with patients to provide support and companionship through conversation and a presence, provide a few hours of respite for a caregiver to get out of the home, and other activities that support a patient at the end-of-life. Flexible schedule, 2 hours per week. No hands on care such as lifting, transferring, bathing, feeding etc is provided by hospice volunteers.
Hospice volunteers describe their work as gratifying, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally meaningful.
Caris requires a lot from our volunteers and values them greatly.
