Work with the American Red Cross to teach mind-body skills to service members, veterans and their families. Strengthen families’ capacity to cope with the unique demands of a military lifestyle.
*Workshops Topics for Adults and Kids/Teens: Effective Communication, Trauma Talk, Defusing Anger, Connecting with Kids, Caregiver Module, Stress Solutions, Confident Coping*
Willingness to support the Red Cross mission and the United States military
* Provide Reconnection Workshops for military members, veterans and their families (currently virtual)
* Work under the supervision of Regional Service to the Armed Forces Lead
* Perform duties within the scope of licensure and training
* Stay up-to-date on mental health research and practices for military, veterans and their families
* Record volunteer hours per Red Cross policy
Requirements:
- Must be fully vaccinated no later than December 31 with required supporting documentation. Note that fully vaccinated means at least two weeks after the final dose of vaccine.
- Master’s level or higher mental health professional with independent, clinical and unencumbered license in one of the following disciplines: Psychiatry, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, School Counseling/Psychology; Nursing (APN or CS in Mental Health area; RN’s who are board certified in Psy/MH). Note: To be eligible, you must have an independent license and not be under clinical supervision.
- Available to mentor and co-teach training with new facilitators
- Personal or professional experience working with the military a plus
