We are looking for volunteers to help us take applications for Emergency Rent Assistance and Eviction Court for tenants at risk of eviction and homelessness approximately 1 - 3 hours per week. Remote training available at Program Coordinator's discretion.


Volunteers collect information for Jesse Tree’s website application for Jesse Tree services, connect people with needed information and support regarding their housing situation.

Jesse Tree is seeking volunteers who will serve as our front-line workers in making sure people who call, text or walk-in receive needed assistance to stay housed!

Please let us know if you are fluent in additional languages or have any other skill sets you would like to utilize during your volunteer opportunity!

  • Be a friendly problem-solver
  • Refer clients to other needed community programs and resources as needed
  • Complete applications over-the-phone for individuals interested in applying for Jesse Tree’s programs
  • Educate about Jesse Tree’s programs and partnerships
  • Check voice messages and return calls, texts, and emails
  • Remain committed to keeping our clients’ information confidential
  • Communicate with other volunteers, Program Coordinator, and Volunteer Coordinator in a timely manner during shifts

Jesse Tree provides a hand up to people experiencing a financial crisis, empowering them to remain in their homes.​

Description

Jesse Tree works with families and individuals in our community who are experiencing a financial and housing crisis and unable to pay rent, providing needed support so they can stay in their homes. Clients are provided with crisis counseling, family and landlord mediation, referrals to other needed services and resources, budgeting and financial literacy assistance, management program, and, as needed, rental assistance. We provide just what's needed to help a household establish stability and financial independence moving forward. Since 1999, Jesse Tree has assisted over 3,000 families and 8,000 individuals, administering over $2.5 million in rental assistance.
