VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview

At Believe in Me, we envision a future where every child has the self-confidence they need to succeed. We are a dedicated team, funding and supporting children's charities that provide marginalized kids with a safe place to call home, a loving family, a sense of community, and ample opportunities to learn, grow, self-esteem, and experience joy. We are currently developing the 1st Gen College Hub app, aimed at empowering first-generation college students with comprehensive resources, personalized guidance, and a supportive community.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a creative and motivated Volunteer Graphic Designer to join our team. As a Graphic Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the visual aspects of the 1st Gen College Hub app and its related marketing materials. Your designs will inspire, inform, and captivate our target audience while aligning with our mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

• App Visual Design: Create engaging graphics, icons, and visual elements for the app interface, ensuring a cohesive look and feel that enhances user experience.
• Marketing and Promotional Materials: Design compelling graphics for social media, newsletters, and other marketing channels to promote the app and engage the community.
• Brand Consistency: Ensure all designs are in line with our brand identity, style guides, and messaging, reinforcing the "Believe in Me" brand across all platforms.
• Collaboration and Feedback: Work closely with the Marketing and Outreach Team to conceptualize and execute design ideas, incorporating feedback to refine and improve designs.
• Project Management: Manage graphic design projects from conception to delivery, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, volunteer-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Proven graphic designing experience with a strong portfolio showcasing creativity and depth in visual design.
• Proficiency in design software and technologies (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale.
• A keen eye for aesthetics and details, with the ability to maintain high design standards under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
• Passion for the Believe in Me mission and a desire to make a positive impact through design.

• Strong communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with a remote, volunteer-based team.

Location

This is a remote volunteering position with flexible hours to accommodate volunteers from various time zones.
