We will be installing a community garden at the Good Shephard Church in San Diego this week and are still in need of volunteers. Community members and neighbors of the church will be able to visit the finished garden to help it grow, and plant their own fruits and vegetables to harvest. We will be planting trees, herbs, and many fruits and vegetables into garden beds built specifically for our project. Gardening knowledge is not necessary to help out our cause. Lunch and water will be provided for volunteers both days. Masks will also be provided for volunteers to adhere to CDC guidelines. The garden is large enough to social distance as well. We will be getting a little dirty so be mindful of what you wear. We can definitely sign off on any needed community service hours. We are asking volunteers to arrive between 9 and 10am. This project will be the first community garden for our nonprofit, amongst our previously installed school and home gardens. If interested, please email or call me ASAP. Don't hesitate to call or test with questions. 760-429-4647

Mission Statement
The Farmacy Initiative was created to improve the health, wellness and prosperity of our communities by inspiring, educating, and equipping children and their communities with the tools they need to plant and care for gardens.
Description
We started our organization on the basis of wanting to provide everyone we can with a source of healthy food. To do this, we began installing gardens into schools, and teaching the students how to care and maintain these gardens with hands-on curriculum we have created. Students are completely involved with the garden installation so they can connect with the full process of where their food comes from. Since starting with schools and reaching more than 1000 students, we have also installed multiple home gardens, and are working on our first community garden. We believe food is thy medicine and will continue our mission so that everyone can have access to healthy foods, through garden installations and education.
