NOTE: Due to the current health crisis we are taking appropriate measures to protect our staff, volunteers, and the general public. In compliance with Seminole County, we ask that everyone wear a mask and observe social distancing to their comfort level.

IF YOU ARE FEELING ILL OR KNOW YOU HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO SOMEONE WITH COVID PLEASE STAY HOME AND TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!

Whether you a retired skilled laborer, a current construction professional, or a High School student completing Bright Futures hours for college - Habitat Seminole-Apopka has opportunities for you! You can learn new skills or hone skills you already have, all the while giving back to our community.

Our construction volunteers contribute to our building projects by framing walls, installing soffits and fascia, raising trusses, and many other things. Even if you don't have experience with the particular activity of the day, don't worry! Our skilled and knowledgeable Site Supervisors will teach you everything you need to know. No need to bring your own tool either - though you can if you prefer - as we will provide everything necessary.

To volunteer please go to habitatseminoleapopka.org/volunteer and click "Sign Up For A Build Day" to create a volunteer account with us and sign up for a day and location that works best for you. Orientations are first thing in the morning (8:00 am) when everyone arrives at the build site. Just show up on time and we will show you all you need to know!

Make sure that you use the above link for upcoming volunteer dates and be sure that you sign up to reserve your spot. If a day is full, we encourage you to join the waitlist.

Waitlisted volunteers will be added to the build immediately when spots open up (in the order that they were added to the waitlist.)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Any volunteer under 18 years old must have their waiver signed by a parent or guardian before you can do any volunteer hours with us.
You can do this electronically by when you sign up for your first build through our VolunteerHub website, or you can d
ownload and print our waiver (https://habitatseminoleapopka.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/2022-Waiver.pdf) and make sure your parent or guardian signs it before you come in for your first day on the construction site.

We hope to see or hear from you soon!

Mission Statement

Habitat for Humanity in Seminole County & Greater Apopka is an ecumenical, Christian housing ministry that seeks to build and renovate safe, decent, affordable housing in partnership with low- and very low-income residents in Seminole County and Apopka.

Description

While our origins are Christian in nature, we do not discriminate based on race, religion, sexual identity, age or any other factor. Simply put, we seek to give people of all backgrounds a hand up -- not a handout -- in order to ensure a better life and a brighter future. Hardworking & deserving families partner with our organization to achieve the American dream of homeownership. By proving a housing need, demonstrating their ability to pay and fulfilling their partnership requirement, partner families are transformed into homeowners. Habitat Seminole & Apopka has served nearly 130 families in its 20 years, but the need for affordable housing in our commnunity continues to grow. By partnering with local leaders, corporations & small businesses, philanthropic foundations and individuals, we hope to achieve our vision of a world in which everyone has a safe, decent, affordable place to live.
