Position: Food Pantry Check-In Helper
Reports to: Terry Knickerbocker
Select Mondays thru Fridays, 8:45am-12:15pm. (2 volunteers needed per day).
Job Summary
The Food Pantry Check-In Helper is responsible for assisting clients in the check-in process at the food bank program. This role involves greeting clients, verifying eligibility, and providing general support to ensure a smooth and efficient experience.
The COVID-19 crisis has significantly increased the need for food assistance. Your support is essential to our mission. As a check-in helper, you'll help us provide efficient, compassionate service to those in need.
·Client Greeting: Welcome clients to the food pantry in a friendly and welcoming manner.
·Eligibility Verification: Check clients' identification and eligibility for food assistance, following established guidelines.
·Data Entry: Accurately input client information into the food pantry database.
·Client Assistance: Provide guidance and support to clients throughout the check-in process, answering any questions they may have.
·Maintain a Clean and Organized Environment: Help to keep the check-in area clean and organized.
Skills
·Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
·Attention to detail and accuracy.
·Basic computer skills, including proficiency in data entry.
·Experience working with diverse populations is preferred.
·A positive and helpful attitude.
Working Conditions
May be required to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
Please be aware this position requires outdoors activity, therefore be mindful of weather changes.
Appropriate Attire: Please wear closed-toe shoes (not sandals, heels, flipflops). Shirts should be short or long-sleeved (no spaghetti straps, strapless, sleeveless, mid-riff showing or tank top types). Shorts/dresses/skirts should be longer in length, appropriate for comfortably bending and reaching items.

·Complete onboarding paperwork
·Attend Volunteer Orientation
·Must be 18 years or older
·Volunteers going over 20 hours must complete a Background Check
