Help feed your community with Open Cupboard (formerly known as CCEFS). Open Cupboard relies on the hard work of volunteers like you to serve families in need, so this role is perfect for anyone looking for a physically active and fun way to help their community!
The need for nourishing food is still growing, and so is our need for volunteers. We now serve over 4,500 households per week, and the number of families in need is still climbing every week.
To meet the ever-increasing need in the community, we are in need of more volunteers! We are serving more families than ever, and we need YOUR help to keep going! There is a lot to do every day, and we wouldn't be able to keep up without our incredible volunteers.
Drive-Up Assistant
Responsibilities
- Preparing drive-up service with the items to be distributed for the day
- Loading food directly into customer’s cars
- Directing traffic during drive-up service
- Assisting with the car-side customer intake process
- Other duties may include restocking shelves, general clean-up, and other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Volunteers must be age 15 or older
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift 30 pounds
- Volunteers are required to wear close-toed shoes, and should dress appropriately for the weather
Schedule
- Thursdays: 1:45 pm - 4:15 pm, 4:00 pm - 6:15 pm
- Fridays: 9:45 am - 12:00 pm, 11:45 am - 2:00 pm

Description
Open Cupboard (formerly known as CCEFS) is a food shelf located in Oakdale. Currently, we provide food to more than 4,000 families each week through our regular Drive-Up food shelf visits, Today's Harvest Market, Delivery Program, and our Mobile Food Shelf.
During these difficult times, we know that there are many in our community who may be looking for help from Open Cupboard for the first time, or may have relied on us in the past and need us now more than ever.
Our primary service area is Oakdale, Woodbury, Landfall, and South Maplewood. However, our services are available to anyone who needs them, regardless of where they live.
To meet the ever-growing need in the community, we are in need of more volunteers! We are serving more families than ever, and we need YOUR help to keep going! There is a lot to do every day, and we wouldn't be able to keep up without our incredible volunteers.
