Science from Scientists (SciSci) is a nonprofit specializing in STEM education. In our core during-school program, we typically provide shared activity materials and send real, charismatic scientist instructors into classrooms to teach hands-on, curriculum relevant STEM lessons.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and to safely continue delivering our hands-on program, we have to deliver our hands-on science education materials in a new way: individual science kits.

SciSci now offers instruction using pre-packaged, individual science kits, so that students learning from home can have access to hands-on science activities, and students learning in classrooms can engage in STEM education activities while maintaining safe social distancing and separate materials.

To provide all our students with individual kits for our STEM lessons we need to produce thousands of STEM kits.

That's where volunteers like you come in - to build science kits, safely at home, and whenever works best with your schedule!

Here’s how it works:

  • We have created boxes including roughly 10 hours of volunteer work for building science kits. These boxes include printed instructions.
  • You schedule a time to pick up a volunteer box in Bedford, MA.
  • You work on building science kits or science kit components at home, following all of the sanitization guidelines listed below.
  • A week later, you drop off the finished products at our Bedford MA office - and, if you are interested in continuing to volunteer, pick up a new package while you are there.

If you are interested in volunteering with Science from Scientists, please contact us.

Thank you so much in advance. We greatly appreciate you supporting our students and teachers!
