Enhabit Hospice, is looking for veterans to provide emotional and companionship support to patients at the end-of-life who have served in the armed forces. Veteran volunteers will provide direct patient care companionship, socialization, emotional support and other appropriately related activities and tasks. Veteran volunteers provide non-medical support and services to patients and respite opportunities for caregivers and family members. As a veteran volunteer you will coordinate the days/times you'd like to be available to patients and their families.
A few ways you can help as a veteran volunteer is by running errands for patients and families, playing games or reading with patients, non-traumatic memory facilitation, experience sharing, walking and caring for family pets, or even creating a photo album of the patient and family.
