Our non-profit organization was created in order to help mediate the social isolation in older adults that has become increasingly prevalent as a result of the current pandemic. Older adults are one of most vulnerable populations and as a result, have been affected the most. Volunteering at Generations Unite allows you to make significant contributions to the lives these affected older adults. Generations Unite volunteers contribute 30 mins to 1 hour a week from home and based on their own schedules. In addition, volunteers at Generations Unite gain invaluable experience in the field of Geriatrics, the study of aging. The largest growing population in America are those 85 years and older, and as a result Geriatrics may become more prevalent than ever before. During the college admissions process, you may certainly speak about your significant contributions and unique experiences as a Generations Unite volunteer. Visit our website at www.generationsunite.org to become a volunteer!

Mission Statement
Generations Unite is a non-profit organization that offers a free easy- to-use website designed to help combat the increasingly prevalent social isolation and loneliness in the seniors. Our primary goal is to provide a platform for older adults to meet young adults with similar interests while sharing their life experiences, stories, and wisdom. We hope to provide an outlet for older adults, who built the world we live in today, to share their lifetime's worth of knowledge. Lastly, we hope that the sharing of personal stories and pieces of wisdom instills a greater appreciation for the older generation in our youth.
Description
To accomplish these goals, we developed a web-based platform that will allow older adults to Video chat or phone call with Youth Volunteers. Generations Unite volunteers contribute 30 mins to 1 hour a week from home and based on their own schedules. In addition, volunteers at Generations Unite gain invaluable experience in the field of Geriatrics, the study of aging. During the college admissions process, you may certainly speak about your significant contributions and unique experiences as a Generations Unite volunteer.
At Generations Unite, we have partnered with various senior homes in the bay area, and we hope to eventually provide our services to older adults across the country. Be apart of this goal, and help us reach older adults everywhere.
