Summary

Neriah Community Health Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving marginalized communities in Haiti to improve their quality of life. The organization empowers underserved people by serving their healthcare needs and educating them on preventive healthcare. In addition, the organization provides education to children and people with disabilities to enhance their opportunities and help them develop the necessary skills.

A volunteer in the volunteer coordination area is responsible for assisting with the planning and management of assignments such as recruiting, selecting and training volunteers. An individual in this role should have experience with such duties as processing applications, answering inquiries by email, creating documents, and researching policies or relevant information. An ideal candidate is a self-starter who possesses excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with volunteer recruitment, screening, selection, training and recognition.
  • Conduct outreach to community, churches and schools for the establishment of internship program.
  • Develop volunteer job descriptions and documents.
  • Respond to volunteer inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Research corporate volunteer programs.
  • Research best Human Resources practices and make suggestions for program improvements.
  • Monitor productivity and satisfaction of volunteers.
  • Track key data points to monitor and evaluate program success.
  • Complete other tasks and projects that are critical to the volunteer coordination program.

Qualifications

  • Be pursuing a certificate or associate’s degree in Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, Human Resources, Social Services or related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive/Docs)
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize, multitasks, work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Enthusiasm for the mission of Neriah Community Health Foundation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship or related experience in volunteer management and/or management for an NGO is a plus

Neriah Community Health Foundation is a 501 c3 Nonprofit organization that serves the needs of local Haitian villages with Christian centered medical care. Thousands of people live without any healthcare in the local villages. Anyone in these areas who is sick must walk many miles to get any health care. Therefore, the need for a Medical Center is critical for ensuring survival in these villages.
