We need a volunteer who will deliver food and PPE, Post Operative packages from the food pantry in Mineola, NY and Rockville Center NY for people who are going through treatment of breast cancer, other cancers and diseases. These people usually are not able to work because they are immune compromised, have no transportation and are having side affects from their disease and medications. They may be only work part time and are in need of food for themselves and their family. This pick up is usually on Saturday Mornings in Mineola or Rockville Center NY, We also need assistance during the week days in the morning to pick up food from Whole foods, Supermarkets, Food Distribution centers, etc to drop off at local pantries.
We have more patients with breast cancer who are located in Queens and Nassau County who are in need of food. Therefore, Rocking the Road for a Cure needs more volunteers to meet the needs of these patients. As we expand and have more patients in need our pantry pick up destinations can expand into other areas.
I would appreciate it if there are volunteers who can assist us with this program. If you can't do every week perhaps volunteers can alternate weeks. Please contact Dawn Frey at 646-244-3034 or 516-417-1911 or email rockingtheroadforacure@gmail.com.
