Spark your passion by supporting others in maintaining their dignity, quality of life, and assuring their needs are being met.
Guardian Partners trains local, dedicated community members with an interest in advocating for adults who have developmental and/or cognitive impairments and are under the legal protection of a Guardian. Guardianship in Oregon is a legal relationship where someone is appointed to make decisions on behalf of those who are unable to make decisions for themselves due to a cognitive impairment. Across the state, there are over 15,000 guardianships. Before Guardian Partners, oversight of guardianship cases in Oregon was almost non-existent.
To address this, we train Volunteer Case Monitors to provide limited oversight of cases by interviewing and meeting with adults living with disabilities. Case Monitors interview those involved in their care and make recommendations to the court for any resources or intervention needed. Our mission is to protect and serve those who need it most, one case at a time.
Case Monitors are at the heart of our mission. Your impact can be profound.

Mission Statement
Guardian Partners assists the Court in protecting our most vulnerable through monitoring and education. These efforts reduce the potential for abuse, neglect, and exploitation of Protected People under guardianship.
Description
Volunteer Monitors are at the heart of our mission to keep vulnerable Oregonians safe and thriving.
Founded in 2014, Guardian Partners has grown to serve 21 counties - Benton, Clackamas, Clatsop, Douglas, Gilliam, Hood River, Jackson, Josephine, Lane, Lincoln, Marion, Morrow, Multnomah, Sherman, Tillamook, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, Wasco, Wheeler, and Yamhill - with additional counties anticipated soon. We strive to review all adult guardianship cases in Oregon. Our volunteers offer local resources for 80% of cases monitored and recommend court intervention as needed.
The difference a Case Monitor makes in a Protected Person's life can be profound.
