Homebound seniors in your community are in need of rides to grocery stores and much-needed medical appointments. Providing even one ride a week would be a great help. :)
Transport seniors to medical or social service appointments, life enhancement activities, and/or errands(bookstore, movie, hair salon). Transport can be door-through door (1:1 for seniors needing an escort into their medical appointments) or curb-to-curb (escort not needed).
Volunteers provide transport in most cases utilizing their own vehicles; an agency vehicle is available in the Vacaville/Fairfield area for those who do not wish to use their own vehicle. Volunteer drivers provide up to 4 hours of service 1x a week, in their city. 6-hour orientation is required. Volunteers must agree to a background check.
Agency volunteers are needed to pick up essential food items or medicines for our homebound seniors. The need for this assistance is increasing.
Masks available if needed. Tips on how to keep yourself and our seniors safe and healthy are provided.

Volunteers are the heart and backbone of the agency. Who We Are: The agency provides non-acute, non-medical in-home support services to homebound seniors. All services are provided by volunteers. Services can include transportation to and from medical or social service appointments, transportation to life enhancement activities, grocery shopping, phone reassurance, home visits, in-home peer counseling, support groups either in person or by teleconference, light house cleaning, yard work, and respite for family caregivers. All services are subsidized through grants or government contracts; donations are accepted. No one is turned away for lack of funds.
