We are creating fascinating cultural and natural history tours of creek watersheds in the San Francisco East Bay. The tours are posted on the app PocketSights, listed under Wholly H2O and Walking Waterhoods. While we want people of all ages to take our tours, they are especially geared toward grade and high schools, with an emphasis is on telling the story of black, indigenous, people of color.

The work consists of both research and writing. It necessitates going beyond the "wikipedia-level" research and we shoot for a friendly tone in telling the stories of flora, fauna and human history in each particular location we cover.

Desired Skills:

  • are curious and are tickled by natural and cultural history enjoy deep-dive research
  • be a solidly evocative and engaging writer who can translate information into scintillating and inviting story
  • live local to the SF BayArea (you walk sections of a watershed about once a month)
  • be available for 15-45 minute meeting once a week with other writers
  • Minimum 5 month commitment
