Monte Nido Walden is a psychiatric hospital focused on eating disorders. Our patients adore when certified pets come to see them and really improves their mood throughout the recovery process! The volunteer program would have you see patients in-person on our different units (inpatient and residential all in the same location) usually for about 20-30 minutes at a time as a group.

Our schedule is flexible. Currently, we have some individuals coming once a week every other week (set day and time). These times would be determined by your availability as well as our group time availabilities!

We are accepting volunteers if we have the paperwork/certificate for your animal as a certified therapy animal and your availability fits ours. Current availability is always changing with volunteers!

We require:

  • Visitor and Pet Names
  • Email Contact/Phone contact
  • Pet Therapy certificate with updated expiration date
  • Pet rabies/vaccine status with expiration date
  • Confidentiality agreement

Please contact bwoodfin@montenido.com with questions, interest and availability.

Thank you!
