We are seeking a passionate and creative Social Media Coordinator to join our animal rescue team. This volunteer role is crucial in helping us spread awareness about our mission, promote adoptable animals, and engage with our community. If you have a love for animals and a knack for social media, we’d love to have you on board!
Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Develop engaging and visually appealing content, including photos, videos, and graphics, to showcase our rescue animals and events.
- Social Media Management: Manage and regularly update our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.), ensuring consistent and timely posts.
- Engagement: Interact with our followers by responding to comments and messages and fostering a positive online community.
- Campaign Development: Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns to promote adoption events, fundraising efforts, and volunteer opportunities.
- Analytics: Monitor and analyze social media performance using tools like Facebook Insights, Instagram Analytics, etc., and adjust strategies as needed to improve engagement and reach.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the rescue team to stay updated on upcoming events, new arrivals, and success stories to share with our audience.
Qualifications:
- Passion for Animals: A strong love for animals and commitment to the mission of our rescue.
- Social Media Savvy: Experience with major social media platforms and an understanding of best practices.
- Creativity: Ability to create compelling and visually appealing content.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written communication skills and the ability to convey our mission and stories effectively.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
- Proactive: Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as part of a team.

Mission Statement
To work to end the suffering of dogs and cats resulting from abuse, neglect, ignorance and pet overpopulation. To advocate the humane treatment of animals through (1) rescue of abandoned, neglected, and abused animals; (2) a spay/neuter assistance program; (3) promoting community awareness through humane education and (4) initiation and support of positive changes in local community municipal codes and state law regarding animal protection . Many of the animals that become a part of our program would not survive without our help. We rescue injured animals that are unable to get the help they require to heal and we rescue abused animals that don't know comfort and kindness and love.
Description
Georgia Heartland Humane Society is a nonprofit agency which receives no government assistance. Our organization relies sole ly on the generosity of the public, striving to maintain its strong fundraising efforts within the community and with area businesses and corporations. We do not operate a shelter, but offer services to the residents of our community and their companion animals. Our volunteers are passionate in their belief that all pets deserve loving families and are working towards accomplishing that goal through community service programs.
