Ushers Needed to Reopen Live Performance Space

ORGANIZATION: Chabot College

  • 34 people are interested

We are looking for a dedicated and friendly team of volunteers to assist our House Managers with Front of House operations in our large, live events venue.

As the PAC emerges from a period of unprecedented closure and change, the role of volunteers will be integral to helping the organization reopen and recover. We need to welcome and reengage audiences back in the safest way, reacting to changing government guidance and reshaping our offering. This is a very exciting time to join our organization as we rebuild for the future.

Some of your duties will include those of a regular usher: welcoming audience members as they arrive at the theatre, assisting with ticket-scanning, and remaining in the auditorium throughout the performance to promptly alert the House Manager to any patron issues that may arise.

However, your main purpose as volunteer will initially be to help us ensure the safety of our audiences, performers and staff- including yourself and one another. Volunteers will help communicate our advanced safety protocols to performers and audience members, assisting with drawing attention to one-way entrances, six-foot floor markers and informative signage. Our House Managers and House Staff will be accessible by radio at all times should you encounter any difficulties.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to witness a wide range of performances and events; gain experience in the Theatre, Customer Service and Events industries; support the college's Theatre and Music departments; and contribute to the safety of the Bay Area community.
