ORGANIZATION: Bags Into Beds

  • 7 people are interested

Hello, my name is Michael Montondon and I founded Bags Into Beds a little over a year ago. Since then I have created an innovative bed for the homeless along with several incredible partnerships that have allowed the nonprofit to grow with little to no funding. Because of this, I have struggled to build an initial projected budget as there is little financial information to work from.
Despite my efforts, I still struggle with the basic duties of building a budget and would love some assistance in doing so.

About Bags Into Beds

Location:

5838 Gregory Ave., #204, Los Angeles, CA 90038, US

Mission Statement

Protecting the environment from plastic film pollution while uplifting the homeless literally and figuratively.

Description

Bags Into Beds is a 501(c)(3) that uses plastic bags and other films as a plush stuffing in beds for the homeless inhabiting southern California. The immediate goal of the project is to prevent plastic films from entering landfills, waterways and other natural areas while repurposing the plastic for something of greater use. The immediate goal is to employ individuals to aid in the manufacturing of and distribution of said beds to communities in need around the state. However, we are currently focused on refining the concept to better serve the almost 60,000 homeless individuals in L.A.
