When help can’t wait during emergencies, people volunteer with the American Red Cross to provide relief and care. Our mission wouldn’t be possible without these community heroes. During our Red Cross Month celebration in March, we honor their commitment to supporting people in need.
This annual tradition began 80 years ago when President Franklin Roosevelt issued the first national Red Cross Month proclamation - and each American president has followed ever since.
