Gentiva Hospice of Jasper is seeking energetic volunteers to visit our hospice clients in the home filling a variety of needs. Our visiting volunteers provide companionship & respite for care givers. We can go and visit with clients and families and provide emotional support and just lend a listening ear. We provide respite visits for family members to be able to leave the home for short periods of time to do things like go to the bank, pick up needed supplies or medications.Often times it is simply to allow them a break for a brief period of time to restore their mind and body. As visiting volunteers we offer things that interest the clients such as as music, reading, playing a game such as checkers or cards. The possibilities are endless and so are the feelings of fulfillment you can receive from helping those in need.
