The COVID19 pandemic was difficult for everyone. Having survived these challenges, we are redoubling our efforts to help other older adult survivors with their need for dignified transportation. We are looking for community members who are willing to drive Independence Rides customers (seniors 60 and older, and visually impaired adults) to desired destinations within the greater Detroit area. We have a vehicle that can be used if the volunteer's vehicle is not suitable.

Mission Statement
The mission of Independence Rides is to provide dignified transportation for seniors and vision impaired adults in the greater Detroit area.
Description
Our singular reason for being is to provide rides for seniors and vision impaired adults. However, along the way we provide a welcomed break to the social isolation that happens when one is no longer able to drive themselves. Our drivers are the key to a ride that is dignified, simple, and pleasant. One ride given is one life enhanced.
