Please note: This is a long-term position so is not suitable for court-ordered community service.
Retired and looking for some volunteer work you can do from home?
We are looking to train a couple more transport coordinators. We are a network of rescues and shelters that work together to help move dogs from rural shelters in WV and eastern KY to foster-based rescues in the northeastern states.
The coordinator manages prepping the transport documents and keeps everyone informed about the transport.
This work is done from a PC using Word documents, Google sheets and email. We have a self-paced training program which walks you through all the details.
Skills you need:
typing
proofreading
organizational
email communication
professionalism
Helpful if you understand Microsoft Word and Excel (Google sheets is very similar to Excel).
We'll teach you the rest.
Must be available one week per month to coordinate on an ongoing basis. All coordinators schedule around their availability, so nobody's backed up managing runs for weeks in a row.
You don't have to be retired for this position. You just need to have availability and be a self-starter once trained. You need to be able to commit to 2-3 weeks of training (online, self paced) in order to be considered for this position. There's details to learn in order to be able to do the job effectively.

Mission Statement
The mission of A Reason To Believe Animal Rescue is to rescue homeless or neglected animals (including but not necessarily limited to dogs and cats), provide veterinary care, and get them placed them in great adoptive homes. All are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We house these animals in foster homes, kennels, or boarding as needed. We work in collaboration with shelters, veterinarians, rescues, owners needing to rehome their pets, and the public. We work to reduce the animal overpopulation issue by spaying and neutering as part of our process. We work to ensure the safety of the public by vaccinating according to the law and as the health of the animal permits based on the recommendations of our veterinarian. We treat for parasites, injuries, dentals, skin or ear infections. etc.
