We match each volunteer with a foster child in the community to build a one-on-one relationship. Mentors pick up the child from their placement and take them out for a few hours. Sometimes it might be to go to the library to work on homework or maybe sometimes you can go see a movie or attend some sort of event around town. You can do pretty much anything - most of the kiddos are just desperate to get out of the house! Mentors are asked to spend at least 8 hours a month with the child. Some mentors will do a couple hours each week, some do longer visits every other week. The scheduling is very flexible and completely up to you and the child! The relationship is also for 1 year and this is to help the child have a consistent and stable role model in their life.
If you're ready to make a difference, you can submit an application online (link below) and from there, we'll schedule you for an interview/orientation where we will discuss the program in more detail.
