We are in need of volunteers to help maintain our demonstration herb garden. It is home to over 100 herbs. This oppurtunity would require around 2 hours of work in the garden per week. You would be required to bend, kneel, lift, and to bring your own tools. Much of the garden up keep is weeding. You would report directly to our head gardener.

The mission of the Shaker Heritage Society is to strengthen our community through educational programs and historic preservation focused on the Shaker ideals of sustainability, equality, compassion, cooperation, and the pursuit of a meaningful life.
Description
Shaker Heritage Society offers a wide variety of educational programs including school programs that meet numerous New York State Learning Standards, programs for senior citizens, outreach programs, lectures, craft workshops, and guided tours. All of our programs can be modified to meet the needs and interests of diverse audiences of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. The Society’s annual craft fairs in July, September, and Christmas have become a community tradition that supports local craft artisans while also providing opportunities to learn more about Shaker history and the Watervliet site. In addition to craft fairs and fun educational activities for kids, Shaker Heritage Society offers one of the most beautiful barn wedding venues in Albany. With corporate retreat facilities, handmade gift shops and plenty of social activities for seniors, there’s something for everyone.
